We're delighted to have a growing corner of shelf space at Scottish Design Exchange on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow — a shop dedicated to showcasing independent Scottish makers, designers, and small-batch producers under one roof. Why We Chose Scottish Design Exchange
Scottish Design Exchange sits right in the heart of Glasgow's city centre, on the corner where Sauchiehall Street meets Rose Street, with the West End's independent shopping scene just a short walk away and the Buchanan Galleries end of town equally close. It's a bright, gallery-style space — white shelving, tiled floors, big street-facing windows — that puts the focus squarely on the work rather than the shopfittings. For a small workshop brand like ours, being surrounded by other independent Scottish makers (candle makers, jam and chutney producers, illustrators, textile artists) is exactly the kind of company we want to keep.
What's On Display
Walk up to our section and you'll find a cross-section of the full Label Home range:
Hook rails and knob racks — rows of reclaimed wood boards fitted with everything from ceramic floral knobs to brushed steel and antique-bronze hardware. We like to mix finishes across a single display so you can see how the same rail reads completely differently depending on the knob or hook style — glass crystal knobs next to a rail feel almost vintage-boudoir, while the black knurled steel knobs a shelf down feel more workshop-industrial.
Serving trays — a run of solid wood trays in oak, walnut, and mixed hardwoods, each with a different handle treatment: brass bar handles, copper handles, and a simple white ceramic handle. Every tray shows its own grain and knot pattern, which is very much the point — no two are identical.
Natural hand-rolled beeswax candles — wrapped in kraft paper and tucked into a lined wooden drawer at the counter, these are one of our simplest products and one of our most popular. Hand-rolled beeswax has a completely different burn character to poured candles, and the drawer display lets people pick one up and feel the weight before they buy.
Wall hangers and coat hooks — a few of our signature cast iron hook pieces are on show too, alongside the vintage oak filing cabinet we use as a plinth for the display, which gives the whole corner a bit of workshop-meets-heirloom character.
Two Pieces Worth a Closer Look
If you're visiting in person, don't miss two pieces sitting in the shop's street-facing window:
The bench. A simple trestle-leg bench sits right in the window looking out over Sauchiehall Street and Rose Street, solid wood top on wooden legs — a good example of how our furniture pieces are built to be genuinely used, not just displayed.
The trestle table legs. Alongside it, a pair of trestle table legs are shown mid-build, chrome and all — a nice bit of transparency into how these pieces come together before a tabletop goes on.
