A Guide to Label Home: Handmade Vintage-Industrial Pieces for Every Room
At Label Home, every piece starts life as raw material — reclaimed scaffold board, cast iron, American hardwood, marine plywood — and ends up as something you'll actually want on your wall or your sideboard. We're a small, Glasgow-based workshop, and everything we make sits somewhere between vintage character and industrial practicality. Here's a look at what we make, category by category.
Wall Hangers & Coat Racks
Our best-known pieces. Each wall hanger and coat rack is built around a solid wood board — reclaimed scaffold board for that weathered, lived-in grain, or American hardwood where a cleaner finish is called for — fitted with cast iron hooks in a range of styles, from simple scroll hooks to more decorative shapes.
A couple of things we're fussy about: our cast iron hooks are new castings finished to look at home in an industrial setting, not genuine antiques, so we describe them as cast iron rather than "vintage" or "antique." And the wood is always named for what it is — you'll never see "reclaimed" on a board that's actually new-cut hardwood.
If you're after something for a hallway, boot room, or entryway, this is where to start — hook counts range from single hooks up to multi-hook rails for a whole family's coats.
Hook Rails & Knob Racks
A softer cousin of the coat rack family. These use ceramic and glass knobs instead of cast iron hooks, and come in a range of colourways — turquoise being one of our most popular. They're a good fit for kitchens, bathrooms, or a child's bedroom, where a coat hook feels a bit heavy-handed but you still want something to hang a towel, bag, or dressing gown on.
Lighting: Table & Floor Lamps
Our lighting sits at the more experimental end of the range. Chrome spotlight lamps bring a slightly retro, functional look, while our 3D-printed shade lamps let us play with shapes and textures that wouldn't be possible with traditional lampshade materials. Between table lamps and floor lamps, there's a fair spread of scale — from a small bedside piece to something that can anchor a reading corner.
Serving Trays & Accessories
Built for use, not just display. Our serving trays follow the same material logic as the wall hangers — solid wood, honestly described, often finished with the same industrial hardware touches you'll find elsewhere in the range. They're equally happy carrying a teapot through to the living room or sitting out as a catch-all tray on a console table.
Tables: Side Tables & Console Tables
Where we move from wall-mounted pieces into freestanding furniture. Side tables and console tables carry the same vintage-industrial thread — solid wood tops, often paired with metal frames or hairpin-style legs — designed to slot into a room that already has a few of our smaller pieces in it, rather than dominate it.
Art, Candles & Collectables
The finishing touches. This is where you'll find our beeswax candles, small art pieces, and a rotating cast of collectables — the kind of items that don't fit neatly into "furniture" or "lighting" but are exactly what a room needs once the bigger pieces are in place.
